February write up

Well February arrived with Sunshine and high temperatures oh joy, offshore fishing got of to a slow start with just a few pollack on the wrecks but by the middle of the month the pollack arrived in force with the last set of big tides.the wrecks started to fish well with good numbers of double figure fish, quite a few touching the 15 lb mark lots of fish in the 8lb-12lb range with only the odd small codling being caught.A few Bass to 12 lb showing on the offshore wreks a bit unusual this time of yearall were returned alive. The inshore marks are fishing well for Blonde rays to around the 20 lb mark a few small eyed showing, lots of spurs and bull huss to about 12 lb only the odd plaice showing at the moment but still lots of mackeral, spratts and herring showing along with some nice whiting to around the 2 lb mark being caught on fish bait at anchor on the inshore marks.High winds returned to spoil the later part of the month, most charter boats from Dartmouth and Torquay report some fair catches of pollack with ling making a show.Fingers crossed we get less wind next month, tight lines Kevin.
